Gabrielle: Today we’re talking with Tori Collier, who is clearly a mom of a couple of beautiful children.
She is also a wife, an attorney, and an author. And she owns a beautiful home in Oakhurst,
here in Decatur, Georgia.
So, tell me about Oakhurst as a neighborhood. Why did you choose it?
Tori: Well, we chose Oakhurst primarily because of all it has to offer with the school systems.
Our house location is right down the street from the park, and really the community is,
like you don’t find anywhere else. We’ve got people who are well established, who’ve lived
here for a long time. Plus new couples with small children like ours. In addition you’ve got
restaurants you can walk to, it’s just a great community.
Gabrielle: So, why don’t you introduce us to our guests here and let them tell us a little bit about
why they like the neighborhood so much.
Tori: This is Catherine.
Gabrielle: Hi Catherine. And this is Christopher.
Tori: Can you say hi?
Gabrielle: Hi, Christopher. Hi.
Tori: So, they like to swim in the pool down the street. And we go for stroller rides and
there’s so many couples that walk their dogs and take their children out for walks
in the evening. And it’s just really neat that way.
Gabrielle: Sounds like a real community then? Right. So, the school system here was also a major
factor in your decision right?
Tori: The number one factor really, and the fact that we work here in Decatur as well.
Gabrielle: Okay. So, between the school system and working here it’s just a great place to be.
And we’ve noticed a lot of growth in this area. People like you are building custom homes.
Tori: Yes, we had ours built from the ground up and truly custom home and there is a lot of that
going on in the neighborhood.
